The Fetch: What's New in August 2026

Scott Keck-Warren • September 1, 2026

August was another busy month for the developers at UnleashedPodcasts we've started work on our API and CLI tool to make it easier to script our workflow as well as created a Shorts modules to make keeping track of your short creation a little easier.

Stay On Top of Your Feed

Our Podcast Checker is a great tool for checking the health of your podcast feed but it required you to manually check the results. We added support to routinely check the feed and report back to you with the results. Then you can know if something new is broken. It's free for a basic weekly check and if you sign up we'll attempt to match your cadence.

Reputation

Two tweaks this month to bolster your reputation online.

Public profiles

One of the pieces we really want is for UnleashedPodcasts to be a landing space for your creative work. As part of that we've launched Public Profiles (here's mine) which allows you to show off all the good work that you've done.

It also gives you a place to "show off" to your next guest and gives guests a reason to share the episode (they get a page too).

Shareable Badges

We love our badges system that lets you earn badges for performing "necessary" work and want you to be able to shout it from the roof tops. We added a publically accessible page so you can show of your "Trophy Case" and share the badges to your social media feeds so everyone can see your accomplishments.

Short-form video, built in

One of the cornerstones of modern podcast promotion is is short-form video on YouTube, Tiktok, etc. and but our existing "Episode" concept is to "heavy" to track the volumn of short-form videos that's required to do so. We created a module that let's you create short ideas as well as upload the finished product into our central Storage so you don't need to worry about keeping track of. They can be associated with an existing Episode so you can keep them linked together and they show up on your Content Calendar for planning purposes (plus they earn badges).

As a tip you should schedule a Short off every Episode so the calendar shows the full promotional trail and not just the drop date.
